(r)etail is retail

Consumers' current 'online' experiences are of course fundamentally different to those during the early dotcom boom: e-commerce is no longer just about choice, price, convenience, reviews and ratings, but also about everything that consumers look for in any purchase: status, the right product and a compelling experience.

So, brands need to re-learn about and profit from the latest innovations that are transforming e-commerce, and ultimately, reshaping shopping behavior. Both on and offline.

Quantified living

Quantified living is one of the most dramatic emerging trends at present - and one that can really impact on our lives. We're already experiencing wearable tracking devices - now we see an emergence of connected objects in your home dedicated to quantifying every other part of your life…

You can check a person's vital signs - pulse, respiration and blood pressure - manually or by attaching sensors to the body. But a student in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program is working on a system that could measure these health indicators just by putting a person in front of a low-cost camera such as a laptop computer's built-in webcam.

Community Co-Collaborators

It's great to see a community creating and sharing a great story. This video fuses together time-lapse and tilt-shift photography, combining user generated content together to tell a chronological story of the Singapore Dragon Race Regatta.

In just over two days, athletes and spectators at DBS Marina Regatta - Dragon Boat Races, which was held on 18 & 19 May 2013, uploaded over 2,000 photos / videos of the event on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Vine!
